Easter Photos

I haven't had time to edit photos, but wanted to share some pictures of our weekend.  We had a nice Easter weekend, but could have done without all the rain.  We are definitely ready for some nice weather so we can play outside, go to the zoo, go to Silver Dollar City, etc.

She loved getting to explore the school bus.

And the fire truck.

Who knew that she would be so excited about Disney princess band-aids.

She loves her balance bike.  No training wheels for Makenna. Please excuse the hair in her face.

Nana made them wear bunny ears for a picture.  They both look thrilled.

The Annual Bunny Pictures

Yesterday was a big picture day for us.  We had Beckham's 6 month pictures taken yesterday morning with the professional photographer and then we headed to Bolivar to have the kids pictures taken with the bunnies of some 4-H kids my mom knows.  Makenna has done so well with them in the past, but yesterday she was so scared of them.  Beckham on the other hand really seemed to like them and even had one pinned down by its ears at one point.  Anyways, here are some that we captured.

Makenna Reading

The other night in between giving the kids a bath Makenna decided she wanted to "read" a book to Beckham.  She chose the only book she can "read" right now, Brown Bear, Brown Bear.  Now I know my daughter is smart, but I also know that she knows how to get through the book because of the repetition and the colors she recognizes.  But hey, it's a good start to her becoming a little reader.  Speaking of reading, I enrolled Makenna in Tiger Cubs Preschool yesterday, which my school district's preschool.  We won't know for sure if she gets in until May, but the chances are pretty high.  I am excited for this, yet a bit sad at the same time.

My heart melts when I watch this video and see how sweet Makenna is to Beckham.  She really is a good big sister and Beckham seemed to enjoy being read to as well.

In other news, we still aren't 100% healthy in the Coffer house.  This week, I have experienced the nasty virus everyone else has had and still am not feeling the greatest.  This has gone on for three plus weeks.  Hopefully all will be well within the next week and that we stay that way for a good, long while.

Another Sick Child and a Video

We just want everyone to be healthy around here.  Just as Makenna got over her pneumonia this week and we finished her round of antibiotic we noticed Beckham getting stopped up and coughing a little.  He started this on Wednesday, but never ran a fever, so there was no point of taking him to the doctor.  Well, yesterday afternoon when I picked him up from the babysitter's I could tell he didn't feel good at all and Ashley told me he had just begun to get hot.  I knew with it being Friday afternoon we needed to take him somewhere, but unfortunately I wasn't feeling well either due to an extreme earache.  Justin left work and finished up working from home and then headed to urgent care with Beckham.  They didn't have a xray machine there so they sent them to ER.  They tested him for a bunch of things and he was diagnosed with RSV and pneumonia.  Luckily, it is in the early stages, so they just prescribed a bunch of medicine and sent them home--only 5 and half hours after it all began.  We are now the proud owners of a nebulizer machine (don't know how much that's going to cost us) and a bunch of medicine.  However, we would pay any amount necessary to get him better.  I am just thankful the little guy didn't have to be hospitalized.  He seems to feel better today so hopefully he is on the road to recovery.  I can't believe we have had both kids in the ER/doctor's office in less than two week. I am glad we have good insurance.

So, needless to say, we have had a stressful past 24 hours.  Thankfully, I am feeling better and my ear has stopped hurting.  I think I got fluid in it from doing a nasal rinse yesterday morning and it finally escape after a period of time.

To end on a positive note, here is a video I shot of the kids earlier in the week.  It is Makenna playing peek-a-boo with Beckham trying to get him to laugh.  Of course, she missed the part about hiding her eyes, but I guess her extreme looking up replaces that in her version of the game. :)  I just think it is too cute not to share.
